I have not posted in a little while! I've not had a whole lot to say. This last week I planted some of the early fall things in the garden! I planted squash, cucumber, zucchini, corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin, and peas! I will plant the rest of the things in late august/early September. And in less then two weeks, we have corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin, and squash sprouts!
Pumpkin! I've never tried to grow this before!
   Corn plants!
I think these are cantaloupe!
These are jalapenos that we still have growing from the last garden!
On Monday around 3:45ish we (Hannah, Abbie, and I) went to some friends house, (the Benavides's) to help them out. They have 10 kids (from 17 to 2 years old) and have 2 others(2 and a few months old ) living with them right now! On Monday afternoon, we did some laundry for them and then just hung-out and helped with supper and played with the kids! after supper, we did puzzles, went to a field right down the road and played in the hay, played some games, and watched part of a movie!

Playing games with some of their family!
Sorry, this is the only picture I have from when we were there! : (
But I think we're going again on Monday, so maybe I can take some pictures then!  So on Tuesday we stayed there almost all day and helped do lots of laundry, and we made a bunch of cookies and banana bread for them! and just hung-out and helped out with the kids! It was all sooo much fun! And I hope we really helped them out and encouraged them! We love them!

When we came home, Shoshie and Declan ( kids we watch almost everyday) were there and Joel, ( a 7 year old boy we watch on Tuesday afternoons) was there also. so it quickly threw us back into the swing of thing! I was so tired by the end of the day!

Wednesday morning I got up pretty early ( I love early mornings!) and read my bible, to catch up on the "Bible reading challenge" 'cause I got behind a little bit while we were gone!
 Early morning!
This sweet baby boy, fell asleep on me while we swung on the hammock, on Wednesday! I LOVE him!
And this girl, made a little bed and and then a fort, mostly by herself! and played with it for probably about 30 minutes! And that is Alot for her! it was sooo nice! It gave me time to read more of my bible! she normally wants you to help her with everything! (even if she can do it be herself)  she would every once and a while, ask "what do you think of it beta? do you like it?" and I would look up and answer, that's it! she is pretty sweet! (most of the time! haha!)
 Her house!

Well, that's a little bit of my life right now! that's it for now! ---For of Him, and trough Him,and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory forever, Amen. Romans 11:36 -Blessings!-Rebekah-

Hair! and Chick-fil-a!

This past weekend, I did a warm olive oil hair mask!
I put olive oil, coconut oil, and honey mixed to gather. warmed it up, and smothered it in my hair!
It was supposed to help repair split ends, make it shinier and smoother and make it healthier!
So It started of, greasy and gross but I hadn't showered yet, so I could handle it! I had to leave it in for a couple of hours!
Oh, forgot to mention, supposedly it was supposed to help your hair grow also! but to help it grow you needed to flip your head over with that stuff in it for four minutes! (I know crazy, but I thought why not)
More greasiness!

I washed it, and washed it, but the greasiness just wouldn't go away! I got tired of taking so many showers! There were even a few times I just wanted to chop all my hair off! and I said I would never do this hair mask again! But on the fourth wash, with baking soda, corn starch, a little bit of dish washing liquid, and some apple cider vinegar........ It was OUT!!!!

Washed and Clean!!!

I Love it!!! It is so soft and shiny and I defiantly think it strengthened my hair!!
(which is why I did it to start with.)

On Friday, my family and I went to chick-fil-a for cow appreciation day! If you dress like a cow you get a free meal!!
Us all dressed up! which one is me? The two littlest are some kids we watch!! Its hard to get a picture where ever body is looking and smiling with out eyes closed!-Rebekah

Fourth of July weekend and the garden!

Hey! Just thought I would tell you about my fourth of July weekend! Thursday night, my family and I went to a game night at some friends house, with some of our church family! We played balderdash, Snorta and 99 or bust! I loved all of those games! Than on Friday, we went to a party at some friends house around 4:00. That was alot of fun! There were several babies and little kids to play with, and lots of yummy food! when it got dark we did fireworks! They live out in the country so I was exited to get to go out there! We got home around 12:30 am! on Saturday my parents went out of town to visit one of my older brothers and his wife, and there baby that is due in August! One of my older sisters and her husband came and picked us up, and took is to there house,to stay the night. we had a bible reading challenge meeting, on Saturday so we were there for that! afterwards, my brother-in-laws sister (who lives down the street from my sister and brother-in-law) said that she was going to spend the night too! but first, she had to feed the animals back home. so we went with her! And I got to help her with their horses! Then we came back to my sisters house and watched a movie! and went to bed around 1:00 am! On Sunday we went to church and then had potluck there at church! and then finally we came home, and just rested!!   What did you do for fourth of July?
Here is a decoration that my sister Faith and I made for the 4th!

I've been working in our garden, getting it ready to plant!!
The Dirt!
Our garden is about 20 feet by 20 feet! I've been shoveling the ground up instead of tilling. It's alot of work! In the upper right corner, you can see that we still have jalapenos growing! In the back of this picture is our chicken coop, that my brother Chris built! I'm getting some cow patty's from a friend to put in the dirt and we have a compost pile that I will put in there too! My goal is to have the dirt ready to plant by  July 21!!
Here is a picture of two of my sisters and I, making cookies for the conference a couple of weeks ago!

Can you guess which one is me!?
Do you have a garden!? That's all for now! -Blessings--Rebekah

Come Away with Jesus conference!-Part 2

3.Come Away From Half-Hearted Devotion: John 15:16 We will shrivel up and die unless we CLING to Jesus, just as the branch clings to the vine for its survival. We cannot cling to Him if we are clinging to anything else. Matthew 6:24 Our Christianity only works when we cling unashamedly to the cross and lift it high for all to see. --As you go about your daily life, do people know you are with Jesus? do they see you clinging to His cross, or standing ashamedly a few feet away?  So those are three things to leave behind.

And a forth thing we must never leave:
Come Away With Your Beloved: Do we possess a to-the-death loyalty to our true king? Psalm 84:10              I think that question speaks for itself!

                                                        Incorruptible Beauty: 1 Peter 3:4
What is True Feminine Beauty? "Inner" beauty vs. "Incorruptible" beauty.
Inner Beauty: being confident in who you are; having a positive "sense of self"; appreciating your own uniqueness and personal qualities. While these are not bad things, this quote kinda says it all "If a soul has any beauty, it is because Christ has endowed that soul with His own, for i ourselves we are deformed and defiled! There is no beauty in any of us but what our Lord has worked in us." Charles Spurgeon

Incorruptible Beauty: Literal meaning: uncorrupted (Pure) and immortal (of Heaven, not earth). In other words.... Reflecting the purity and Heavenly nature of Jesus Christ in and through your character and conduct. Christianity is not about esteeming self; but denying self and esteeming Christ. Luke 9:23 Deny: To forget one's self; lose sight of one's own interests. John 3:29,30  "A foolish woman is clamorous." Proverbs 9:13 Clamorous:To make noise, to draw attention to oneself, to cause a stir.  To exude the incorruptible beauty of a quite spirit means to no longer draw attention to yourself, but to keep "self" quite, so that Jesus can be seen and heard through your life.  Three Ways To Cultivate Incorruptible Beauty:
                                   1. Exchange self-promotion for Godly Humility.
                                   2. Exchange Idle chatter for Godly Edification.
                                   3. Exchange Temporal Distractions for True Satisfaction.

1. Exchange Self-Promotion for Godly Humility: "Until we are poor in spirit-Christ is never precious. until we see our own wants, we never see Christ's worth" Thomas Watson

Oh, The Many Ways to "Look at me!"
              Social media--"Look at me!"
              Posting Selfies--"Look at me!"
              Sensual clothing--"Look at me!"
              Flirting--"Look at me!"
              Pinterest boards--"Look at me!"
What would happen if we as Christian women began to put aside our self-seeking ambitions and joyfully take the lowest place, just as Jesus did? How much more of Jesus would people see in our lives if we adopted the attitude, "I must decrease, but He must increase"? Philippians 2:5,7 "What I'm called to be is nothing: Jesus made Himself nothing." Elisabeth Elliot

2. Exchange Idle Chatter for Godly Edification: Proverbs 14:23 2 Timothy 2:16  Idle babbling: empty discussion, discussion of vain and useless matters. Romans 14:19  Edify: To build someone up in their faith, to promote another person's growth in christian wisdom, piety, holiness, etc. Matthew 12:36

To Truly Edify others with our Words, Tweets, Text or Posts- We must ask ourselves.....
Do these words truly point people to Jesus Christ and reflect His nature?
Do these words serve any higher purpose other than to fill space with idle chatter?
Do these words honer God, or do they esteem the shallow things of this world?
  Proverbs 31:26

3. Exchange Temporal  Distractions for True Satisfaction: Does the majority of your time, go to things of eternal value? Psalm 16:11

"Me" Time vs. God Time. When Evaluating any Daily Activity- Ask yourself these questions.....
Am I doing this for selfish reasons, or Christ-honoring ones?
Is this activity purely frivolous, or does it serve a higher purpose?

If an Activity Has Eternal Value.....
It causes you to draw closer to Jesus Christ and/or learn more about Him.
It builds meaningful relationships with people God has put in your life.
It helps you bless others and assist you in sharing the love of Christ with them.
It helps you become better equipped for the things God has called you to.
It leaves you peacefully refreshed instead of agitated and distracted.
It bears "good fruit" instead of "bad fruit" in your life
True beauty does not come from "felling good about ourselves" but from getting out of the way, so Jesus can be seen.

I really loved it and hope you did to! Blessings-Rebekah
